Friday 24th June and its been a busy one for the Chamonix mountain rescue (PGHM). Â Firstly and most serious was at 10.45am with a call out to the “Grand Couloir” on the standard Gouter route up MT Blanc. Â An Austrian climber had fallen 300 – 400 meters to his death. Â Unable to say why its presumed the climber was hit by falling rocks.
Another rescue in the same place later on in the day for dislocated shoulder.
Another 5 rescues took place during the day including a mountain biker on Flegere.
